What is Quick?
Quick is a mode that disables every tool so your message gets a reply with zero tool overhead. No web search, no Research, no Databank, no Reason, no automatic tool calls of any kind. Just the model, answering your question as fast as possible.
Why this is faster
Normally, Wysor considers whether to invoke tools on your behalf. Even when you haven't manually enabled anything, the model may still call web search automatically when your question needs fresh info, or invoke document creation when you ask for a draft. Each of those calls adds latency. Quick mode skips all of that. You get a one-pass response from the model, and nothing else.
When to use it
Quick is ideal for:
- Quick facts the model already knows — "When was the Eiffel Tower built?"
- Rewrites — "Rewrite this email to sound more friendly"
- One-shot questions — single-turn questions where you don't need tools or research
- Short summaries — "Summarize this paragraph in one sentence"
- Light tasks — anything where speed matters more than depth
What it turns off
When Quick mode is on, every other tool button is automatically disabled (greyed out). This is by design — Quick mode is an "exit hatch" for when you just want the model to reply without any tool orchestration. If you need any tool, turn Quick off first.
When NOT to use Quick
Quick strips out all tool access, so it's the wrong choice when your question needs:
- Fresh web information — Quick disables web search, so the model can only rely on its training data
- Cited sources — Databank and Research are disabled
- Your own documents — Knowledge bases can't be queried in Quick mode
- Deep reasoning — the Reason mode is disabled, so the model answers immediately without extended thinking
- Document creation — Wysor won't create editable artifacts in Quick mode
For any of those, turn Quick off and let Wysor run the tools normally.
